In the advent of smart buildings, BACnet has emerged as the protocol standard in the Building Automation (BA) industry. For many buildings around the world, BACnet integration pools together multiple systems to offer insights and analytics to help buildings become more efficient and more comfortable for occupants.
BACnet unlocks interoperability across multiple systems and vendors. BACnet/IP enables practitioners to track day-to-day building performance and gain critical insights for high-performing control strategies.
We’re excited to announce the Sensedge’s latest feature: BACnet/IP integration.
Supporting IP-based connectivity over both Ethernet and Wi-Fi, Sensedge devices installed throughout a building act as an active server to monitor various air quality parameters.
These include:
Syncing this data with BA systems helps ensure that devices are effectively communicating with each other and optimizing building conditions. These air quality factors affect occupant comfort, health, and overall productivity.
Pairing Sensedge data with BACnet technology helps you effectively save energy costs while improving occupancy comfort.
Under this system, the Sensedge can send messages that report the value of the property based on defined event rules. A client system can subscribe to an object such as the Sensedge for COV (change of value) reporting. As an active server, the Sensedge monitors the value of the parameter, subscription list, and the change criteria. When conditions inside a building meet the change criteria, the Sensedge will trigger notifications of the new value to its subscribers.
By supporting BACnet COV, this data enables BA systems to better control and measure what’s happening in buildings.
Buildings can harness the powerful data collected by Sensedge devices to optimize their control strategies. If you think this is right for your project, download our Sensedge BACnet user guide to learn more.
