New sensor module lets WELL projects meet 3 preconditions and earn up to 9 optimization points with the Sensedge Mini through continuous monitoring, no performance testing needed.
Kaiterra just launched a new sensor module adding ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide monitoring capabilities to the Sensedge Mini, its enterprise indoor air quality monitor. The addition makes the Sensedge Mini a powerful wired option for WELL projects seeking to maximize their points, and gives workplaces and commercial buildings deeper visibility into their indoor environments.
The Sensedge Mini now measures every parameter required in WELL’s Air and Thermal Comfort concepts, allowing projects to skip annual performance testing and meet 3 preconditions (A01, A03, T01) through the sensor data pathway. The enhanced parameters also make it possible for projects to earn up to 9 optimization points across five features in those concepts (A05, A06, A08, T06, T07).
The launch answers a clear demand from new-build projects for a wired, BTL-certified alternative to the wireless Sensedge Go, one that integrates directly with building management systems.

This upgrade is only possible because of Kaiterra's modular sensor design. The Sensedge Mini's sensors sit in replaceable modules, so customers can swap them as needed to keep monitors accurate over time, without shipping devices back to the factory for recalibration. Any Sensedge Mini already installed in the field can be upgraded on-site with the new module; there’s no need to order a new unit.
The use cases for these new monitoring capabilities extend beyond WELL projects. Ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and carbon monoxide can all build up near combustion sources, or in ground-floor spaces where outdoor air often leaks in. Ozone levels can also spike indoors from office equipment like laser printers and photocopiers.
The new sensor module is available to customers now and is compatible with all Sensedge Mini variants.
